Here are some news notes from that game:
Irish prevail: Anthony Yakovich blocked Patrick Acosta's 54-yard field goal attempt on the final play, allowing Sheldon (7-4) to finally breathe easy with a 33-30 victory over visiting Westview (6-5) in Eugene.

The Wildcats pulled within 33-30 after a three-yard keeper by quarterback Josh Hill with 8.4 seconds left. Westview then recovered an onside kick and completed a short pass to set up the last-gasp field goal try.

Sheldon took a 33-23 lead with 1:29 remaining thanks to a one-handed catch by Curtis White. He hauled in a pass from Jordan Johnson for a 32-yard score on a fourth-and-nine play.

The teams combined for 676 total yards in a game with five lead changes.

The game was a rematch from the second week of the 2007 regular season, when Westview won 28-7, the Irish's first regular season loss at home since Sept. 6, 2000.
